The artistic practice of Cathalijn Wouters is marked by a multiplicity of techniques. Where she is known for her drawings on paper, these days Wouters has expanded her range by painting and collages. Her work tends to become ever more thematically varied; yet always indulging into the spontaneous physical and material process of creating images.
Wouters builds on an oeuvre that reflects on art history, yet manages to become her private testimony to life, beauty and the unconscious. She observes the world in her own way, interprets, modifies, celebrates and thereby lets her art capture the inner and outer lines of the dynamics of life.
